A Call To The Fire Of Heaven
I just experienced the stirring of the song “Come Holy Spirit” by Martin Smith and Steffany Gretzinger, and I felt compelled to share how deeply it ushered me into worship.
“Come Holy Spirit, fall on us
Burn like a fire, living flame of love…”
These lyrics echo a powerful invitation to the presence of God — not just a quiet whisper, but a rising flame in our hearts. The call is vivid: to come down, to burn, to renew, to set all things aflame.
✨ What stands out to me:
Our posture: “We’re on our knees, holy God; show us Your glory, oh God…” This reminds us that worship begins with humility and surrender.
Kingdom expectation: “Father God Your will be done, Christ in us Your Kingdom come, Spirit lead us now as one, set Your church on fire again.” Here is a vision not just of personal refreshment, but of the Church united in the fire of the Spirit.
Pentecostal longing: The imagery of fire and coming of the Holy Spirit resonates with the biblical promise of the Spirit in action.

For us, those walking in faith, this song can be more than background worship—it can be a declaration:
“Holy Spirit, fall on us. Burn like a fire.”
Let it be your prayer today. Let it stir your heart. Let it awaken a fresh longing for the tangible presence of God in your life, your family, your home, your calling.
A Scripture to match the moment:
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” — Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)
As we invite the Spirit anew, we acknowledge He is in us, and we long to walk in the fullness of that presence.
Journaling or reflection:
Where do you sense your “knees” metaphorically in this season—places of surrender, uncertainty, or weakness?
What does “set Your church on fire again” mean personally for you in your community or family?
How might you open space this week for the living flame of God’s love to burn away what’s dead, cold, or idle in your heart?
May this song be a soundtrack of revival in your spirit—calling you higher, deeper, and closer into the heart of the Father.
